A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE CLINTON HIGH SCHOOL ARROWS BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM FOR WINNING THE 2022 MISSISSIPPI HIGH SCHOOL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATION CLASS 6A BOYS BASKETBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.
WHEREAS, the Clinton High School Arrows Boys Basketball Team capped off its remarkable season and reigned supreme to take home the Mississippi High School Activities Association Class 6A Boys Basketball State Championship; and
WHEREAS, although there were several standout individual performances over the course of the season, the championship win was a culmination of hard work and team effort, with every player knowing their role and executing it perfectly; and
WHEREAS, the Arrows' roster consists of the following outstanding student-athletes: Ashten M. Neal, Allen Hughes, Kimani Hamilton, Brandon Taylor, Will Johnson, Tyler Nichols, Jaylon Davis, Kari Hamilton, Micah Martin, Kawaski Lambert, Mark Hunter, Nehemiah Jones, Nigel Jones, Kameron Wilkes, Samuel Thompson and Christian Washington; and
WHEREAS, the Arrows have been superbly coached and inspired by Head Coach Leonard Taylor and Assistant Coaches Jake Reed, Isiah Austin and Mike Bagley, who have broadened their knowledge of the game and refined their skills in execution; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend the superb accomplishments of Mississippi's student-athletes, especially those such as the Clinton High School Arrows Boys Basketball Team, whose excellence on and off the court brings honor to Clinton High School, the Clinton community and to the State of Mississippi:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Clinton High School Arrows Boys Basketball Team upon winning the Mississippi High School Activities Association Class 6A Boys Basketball State Championship, and extend best wishes to the team and coaches for continued success in all of their future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Clinton High School Arrows Boys Basketball Team, and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
