AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY OF WAVELAND, MISSISSIPPI, TO OFFER THE PUBLIC A TWELVE YEAR LEASE OF THE WAVELAND BUSINESS CENTER THAT SHALL BIND SUCCESSOR GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The governing authorities of the City of Waveland, Mississippi, are authorized, in their discretion, to offer the public a twelve (12) year lease of the Waveland Business Center.  In addition, for any lease holder under a lease with the Waveland Business Center that is in effect before the effective date of this act, the governing authorities are authorized, in their discretion, to offer a renewal and/or extension of such lease for a twelve (12) year lease period.  The lease or the renewal and/or extension of such lease, as the case may be, shall follow the procedures specified under Section 21-17-1 et seq., Mississippi Code of 1972, and shall be binding, according to its terms, on successor governing authorities of the city for the twelve (12) year lease period.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
