Summary

An Act To Amend Section 73-25-34, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Define Telemedicine Services In The Medical Practice Act And To Provide Standards For Physicians Providing Treatment Via Telemedicine Services; To Create A New Code Section Which Provides For Civil Penalties For Any Health Insurer, Health Subscription Plan, Health Maintenance Organization That Denies Payment For Diagnosis, Treatment, Or Consultation Provided By Telemedicine If It Would Be Covered Were It Provided In Person; To Authorize The Mississippi Board Of Medical Licensure To Promulgate Rules Relating To Telemedicine; To Amend Section 41-3-15, Mississippi Code Of 1972, In Conformity; And For Related Purposes.
