SECOND REGULAR SESSION

House Concurrent Resolution No. 61

95TH GENERAL ASSEMBLY

INTRODUCED BY REPRESENTATIVES SMITH (14) (Sponsor) AND DIECKHAUS (Co-sponsor).

5056L.01I

Whereas, in St. Charles County, a 3500-foot portion of Highway 94 west of Terry Road is vital to the economic viability of the businesses in that area; and

Whereas, this portion of Highway 94 frequently floods due to the low level of the highway; and

Whereas, elevating this portion of Highway 94 by approximately three and one-half feet from its current level would prevent this portion of highway from flooding with such frequency; and

Whereas, requests to the Missouri Department of Transportation regarding the possibility of elevating this portion of Highway 94 have remained unresolved; and

Whereas, to assure the safety of all motorists and pedestrians on this portion of Highway 94, the Missouri Department of Transportation needs to immediately undertake corrective action to reduce the frequency of flooding on this portion of highway and respond to requests for such improvements:

Now, therefore, be it resolved that the members of the House of Representatives of the Ninety-fifth General Assembly, Second Regular Session, the Senate concurring therein, hereby direct the Missouri Department of Transportation to respond to the request for improvements to a 3500-foot portion of Highway 94 west of Terry Road in St. Charles County in order to reduce the frequency of flooding on that portion of highway; and

Be it further resolved that the Chief Clerk of the Missouri House of Representatives be instructed to prepare properly inscribed copies of this resolution for Pete Rahn, Director of the Missouri Department of Transportation and the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission.
