AN ACT

To amend chapter 307, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to taxicabs, with a penalty provision.




Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:


            Section A. Chapter 307, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 307.162, to read as follows:

            307.162. It shall be unlawful after January 1, 2011, to operate a taxicab on any public highway or street in this state unless such vehicle is equipped with a partition that separates the driver from the back-seat passengers. Any person violating this subsection shall be deemed guilty of an infraction and shall be punished by a fine not to exceed fifty dollars for each offense.
