1.2relating to health; providing funds to eliminate health disparities of first
1.3generation Somali women in Minnesota; appropriating money.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; WOMEN'S HEALTH EQUITY.
1.6$250,000 is appropriated from the general fund in fiscal year 2015 to a Somali
1.7woman-led prevention health care agency located in Minnesota. This agency must use
1.8community-based participatory research to address women's health inequities experienced
1.9by first generation Somali women and provide services through culturally specific, Somali
1.10women-centered programs in order to improve and increase women's access to maternal
1.11health programs, access to preventive care, reduce infant mortality, and increase health
1.12literacy. This agency must develop a methodology to measure program outcomes.
