A bill to amend 1950 (Ex Sess) PA 23, entitled

"Airport zoning act,"

by amending section 19 (MCL 259.449).

the people of the state of michigan enact:

Sec. 19. No airport Airport zoning regulations shall be adopted, amended, or changed under this act except by action of the governing body of the political subdivision in question, or by action of the joint airport zoning board provided for in sections section 14 or 17, after a public hearing. in relation thereto, at which parties in interest and citizens shall have an opportunity to be heard. At If the hearing is held before January 1, 2022, at least 15 days' notice of the hearing shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation , in the political subdivision or subdivisions in which is located wholly or partly, the airport hazard area to be zoned , or, if no a newspaper is not generally circulated in any such political subdivision, then in a newspaper of general circulation in the county in which such the political subdivision is located. If the hearing is held on or after January 1, 2022, the governing body or joint airport zoning board shall give notice of the hearing as provided in the local government public notice act beginning not less than 15 days before the public hearing, as well as notice in the manner provided in section 103(2) and (3) of the Michigan zoning enabling act, 2006 PA 110, MCL 125.3103.

Enacting section 1. This amendatory act does not take effect unless Senate Bill No.____ or House Bill No. 6440 (request no. 02449'19) of the 100th Legislature is enacted into law.
