Synopsis: State educational institution grading practices. Requires
each state educational institution to provide the commission for higher
education with information concerning grading practices for courses
that are required to fill general education requirements at the state
educational institution, and the commission to file an annual report of
the information with the general assembly.
Effective: July 1, 2012.

A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning
higher education.
(1) are required to fill general education requirements at the state educational institution; and
(2) have a minimum class size of twenty-five (25) students.
(b) The information compiled under subsection (a) must include grade distributions for the same course, grouped by:
(1) tenured faculty members;
(2) faculty members who are on a tenure track; and
(3) contract instructors;
for the most recent academic year and the five (5) academic years preceding the most recent academic year.
(c) The commission shall compile and report the information described in subsection (a) annually to the general assembly in an
electronic format under IC 5-14-6.
