A HOUSE RESOLUTION honoring Dr. Christopher
McIntire.
Whereas, On September 30, 2012, at approximately 2:54
p.m., Department of Correction employee Officer Tom Jasinski
suffered a heart attack;
Whereas, Dr. Christopher McIntire, a Catholic Chapel
volunteer, began administering care to Officer Jasinski,
including CPR;
Whereas, Dr. McIntire applied an automated external
defibrillator (AED) Heart Start to Officer Jasinski, which
indicated that he had ventricular tachycardia (V-TAC);
Whereas, Dr. McIntire shocked Officer Jasinski with the AED, returning his heart to normal sinus rhythm, and instructed the staff to call the EMS technicians; and
Whereas, Through the brave and quick actions of Dr.
Christopher McIntire, Officer Jasinski's life was saved:
Therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the
General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives recognizes the heroic and selfless act of Dr. Christopher McIntire that resulted in saving Officer Tom Jasinski's life.
SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit copies of this resolution to Dr. Christopher McIntire.
