Bill Title: Protecting pets in distressed homes. Provides that: (1) an adult protective services unit conducting an investigation; or (2) a caseworker conducting an assessment; who observes, or has reason to believe, that an animal is a victim of animal cruelty, abandonment, or neglect may make a report to the local law enforcement agency or local animal control officer. Provides that: (1) an adult protective services unit; or (2) a caseworker; who makes a report of animal cruelty, abandonment, or neglect is immune from civil and criminal liability.
