Summary

Increases from two to four years the term of office for a representative. Increases from four to six years the term of office for a senator. Provides that the individual may not have served more than 25 years as a member of the general assembly at the time of the individual's election or appointment. Provides that the time that an individual has served in the general assembly before January 1, 2017, may not be considered for purposes of this limitation. Increases from four to six years the maximum term for an office created by the general assembly. This proposed amendment has not been previously agreed to by a general assembly.
