2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of F.O. "Frank" Kenny of Peoria, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on October 20, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Frank Kenny was born in Peoria to John C. and Ann | ||||||
6 | E. Sheridan Kenny on August 26, 1935; he graduated from the | ||||||
7 | Spalding Institute and Bradley University; he served for two | ||||||
8 | yeas with the U.S. Marines and married Laura J. Carney in Ladd | ||||||
9 | on September 9, 1961; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Frank Kenny was a Peoria Journal Star reporter | ||||||
11 | from 1961 to 1967; he retired from Caterpillar in 1996 after 29 | ||||||
12 | years in marketing, human resources, and the Caterpillar | ||||||
13 | Training Institute; he served as interim Peoria County Circuit | ||||||
14 | Clerk in 1998 and was a member of the Peoria County Board for | ||||||
15 | eight years; he also served two terms as a trustee for the | ||||||
16 | Greater Peoria Sanitary District Board; and

17 | WHEREAS, Frank Kenny was a block captain for the Uplands | ||||||
18 | Homeowners Association and a Democratic Party precinct | ||||||
19 | committeeman; he was a Red Cross blood and pheresis donor and a | ||||||
20 | volunteer driver for the Cancer Society; he was a volunteer and | ||||||
21 | former board chairman for the Heart of Illinois Harvest; he was | ||||||
22 | former president of St. Brendan's Division, a St. Patrick's |

1 | Society Lifetime Member, and a board member of the Friends of | ||||||
2 | Clonmel; he was also a volunteer at Proctor Hospital; he was a | ||||||
3 | former chairman of the St. Mark's School Committee and a member | ||||||
4 | of the 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus Spalding Council #427; | ||||||
5 | and

6 | WHEREAS, Frank Kenny was preceded in death by his brothers, | ||||||
7 | Jack, Jim, Tom, Jerry, and Jerome, and his sister, Mary Errion | ||||||
8 | Bailey; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Frank Kenny is survived by his wife, Laura; his | ||||||
10 | children, Susan (Jason) Miller, David, Rob (Linda), Joe (Kate), | ||||||
11 | and Patrick (Laurel); eight grandchildren; his brother, | ||||||
12 | Martin; and his sister, Nancy Norton; therefore, be it

13 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
14 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
15 | F.O. "Frank" Kenny and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
16 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
17 | further

18 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
19 | presented to the family of Frank Kenny as an expression of our | ||||||
20 | deepest sympathy.
