2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Dennis Wayne Quillen of Rushville, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on May 5, 2014; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Dennis Quillen was born in Rushville on September | ||||||
6 | 14, 1942 to Wayne B. and Mary Eleanor (nee Rexroat) Quillen; he | ||||||
7 | graduated from Rushville High School in 1960 and served in the | ||||||
8 | United States Air Force with the Illinois Air National Guard | ||||||
9 | 183rd Fighter Wing for 9 years; he married Judy M. Ryan on | ||||||
10 | October 3, 1965 at First United Methodist Church in Rushville; | ||||||
11 | and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Dennis Quillen worked at Bartlow Brothers, Inc. in | ||||||
13 | Rushville for 36 years, retiring in 1997; he was an active | ||||||
14 | partner in Quillen Farms and Quillen Trucking; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Dennis Quillen was a member of First United | ||||||
16 | Methodist Church in Rushville, the Schuyler County Farm Bureau, | ||||||
17 | and the Schuyler American Legion Post #4; he had served on the | ||||||
18 | Schuyler County Fair Board since 1980, serving recently as | ||||||
19 | Vice-President; and

20 | WHEREAS, Dennis Quillen enjoyed pole fishing, hunting deer | ||||||
21 | and elk, and working with his Polled Hereford Cattle; and

1 | WHEREAS, Dennis Quillen was preceded in death by his | ||||||
2 | parents, and by a sister-in-law, Candy Quillen; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Dennis Quillen is survived by his wife, Judy; 2 | ||||||
4 | sons, Steve (Terri) Quillen and Ryan Quillen; one | ||||||
5 | granddaughter, Megan Quillen; and one brother, Larry Quillen; | ||||||
6 | therefore, be it

7 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||
8 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
9 | Dennis Wayne Quillen, and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
10 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
11 | further

12 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
13 | presented to the family of Dennis Quillen as an expression of | ||||||
14 | our deepest sympathy.
