SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
to learn of the death of Ronald L. "Ron" Bergman Sr. of East
Moline, who passed away on January 28, 2024; and
WHEREAS, Ron Bergman was born to Marvin and Dorothy
Johnson Bergman in Davenport, Iowa on June 17, 1947; he served
in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve; he married Kayleen Heimann
in Rock Island on July 4, 1969; and
WHEREAS, Ron Bergman retired from Case IH/New Holland in
East Moline in 1998 after 32 years of service; and
WHEREAS, Ron Bergman enjoyed dancing with his wife,
sitting outside and watching wildlife in his backyard,
restoring his Crosley radio, putting together jigsaw puzzles,
and spending time with his family; he was an avid fan of the
Green Bay Packers; and
WHEREAS, Ron Bergman was preceded in death by his parents;
his wife; and his granddaughter, Angel Hannah; and
WHEREAS, Ron Bergman is survived by his son, Ronald (Pam)
Bergman Jr.; his daughter, Marjorie (Russell) Hannah; his
grandchildren, Zack Bergman, Lucas Bergman, Kayleen Hannah,

Ryan Hannah, and Seth Hannah; his great-grandson on the way;
and his brother, Michael (Sharon) Brown; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Ronald L. "Ron" Bergman Sr. and extend our sincere condolences
to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
it further
