SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Robert B. "Bob" Bennett of Rock
4Island, who passed away on January 19, 2024; and
5 WHEREAS, Bob Bennett was born in Ottumwa, Iowa to Fred and
6Edna (Callaway) Bennett on January 25, 1932; he served in the
7U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1956; he
8married Ginny Mehall in Moline on September 20, 1975; and
9 WHEREAS, Bob Bennett was an entrepreneur and owned and
10operated AAA Muffler and Lube Shops from 1970 to the early
112000s; and
12 WHEREAS, Bob Bennett enjoyed restoring antique cars and
13boating on the river; and
14 WHEREAS, Bob Bennett was preceded in death by his parents;
15his son, John A. Bennett; and his siblings, Fred, Joe, and
16Billie; and
17 WHEREAS, Bob Bennett is survived by wife of 48 years,
18Ginny; his children, Rhonda Bennett, Andrea Bennett, Judi
19Bennett, and Julie (Kurt) Samuelson; his grandchildren,
20Shannon and Brandt; his great-grandchildren, Addisyn and

1Kassius; his brother, John; and his bonus son, Mike Mills;
2therefore, be it
3 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Robert B. "Bob" Bennett and extend our sincere condolences to
