2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Robert E. Merrill of Colona, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on May 13, 2021; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Robert Merrill was born in Moline to Joseph and | ||||||
6 | Adia "Irene" DeVore Merrill on November 13, 1944; he served in | ||||||
7 | the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era; he married Barbara | ||||||
8 | Draper in Rock Island on December 24, 1970, and she preceded | ||||||
9 | him in death on February 17, 2013; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Robert Merrill worked as a machine repairman at | ||||||
11 | IH in East Moline; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Robert Merrill was a member of the Colona | ||||||
13 | American Legion, Geneseo VFW Post 5083, Disabled American | ||||||
14 | Veterans, and Vietnam Veterans of America; he also helped | ||||||
15 | establish the Henry County Veterans Assistance Commission; and

16 | WHEREAS, Robert Merrill was preceded in death by his | ||||||
17 | parents, his wife, and his brothers, James, Joseph, and | ||||||
18 | Norman; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Robert Merrill is survived by his children, | ||||||
20 | Christopher (Sharon) Merrill, Mechelle "Missy" (John) Larson, |

1 | Jody (Thad) Lindstrom, and Robert "Bobby" (Kelly) Merrill; his | ||||||
2 | grandchildren, Terry Larson, Jonathon Larson, Sommer Larson, | ||||||

4 | Spencer Lindstrom, Dawson Merrill, and Alyse Merrill; his | ||||||
5 | great-grandchildren, Elijah Ford, Chloe Wheat, Christopher | ||||||

12 | Robert E. Merrill and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
13 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
