Bill Title: Amends the Illinois Noxious Weed Law. Provides that the governing body of each county may (previously was "shall") carry out the duties and responsibilities vested in it under the Act with respect to land under its jurisdiction in accordance with rules prescribed by the Department of Agriculture. Provides that those duties may (previously was "shall") include the establishment, under the general direction of the governing body of each county, of a coordinated program for control and eradication of noxious weeds within the county. Effective immediately.

SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
505 ILCS 100/7 from Ch. 5, par. 957

Amends the Illinois Noxious Weed Law. Provides that the governing body of each county may (previously was "shall") carry out the duties and responsibilities vested in it under the Act with respect to land under its jurisdiction in accordance with rules prescribed by the Department of Agriculture. 1 AN ACT concerning agriculture.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Noxious Weed Law is amended by
5changing Section 7 as follows:
6 (505 ILCS 100/7) (from Ch. 5, par. 957)
7 Sec. 7. Each Control Authority may shall carry out the
8duties and responsibilities vested in it under this Act with
9respect to land under its jurisdiction in accordance with rules
10and regulations prescribed by the Department. Such duties may
11shall include the establishment, under the general direction of
12the Control Authority, of a coordinated program for control and
13eradication of noxious weeds within the county.
14 A Control Authority may cooperate with any person in
15carrying out its duties and responsibilities under this Act.

17 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
