Bill Title: Amends the Other Social Services Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that in a county under township organization, a township may provide, from moneys received and collected for public aid to all persons eligible for General Assistance under the Code, funds and administer programs for providing in-kind aid in meeting basic maintenance requirements, including, but not limited to, food, paper goods, toiletries, and clothing, to persons who are poor, indigent, homeless, or in need of immediate assistance, in addition to financial aid provided under the Code.

1 AN ACT concerning public aid.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
5adding Section 9-15 as follows:
6 (305 ILCS 5/9-15 new)
7 Sec. 9-15. Township food pantries. In a county under
8township organization, a township may provide, from moneys
9received and collected for public aid to all persons eligible
10therefor under Article VI of this Code, funds and administer
11programs for providing in-kind aid in meeting basic maintenance
12requirements, including, but not limited to, food, paper goods,
13toiletries, and clothing, to persons who are poor, indigent,
14homeless, or in need of immediate assistance, in addition to
15financial aid provided under this Code.
