Bill Title: Amends the Governmental Joint Purchasing Act. Authorizes the Division of Forensic Services of the Department of State Police to purchase supplies and services made available by the Federal Acquisition Regulations System, and as allowed for by the federal government for state governmental entities. Provides that such procurements made by the Division of Forensic Services are presumptively approved methods of source selection under the Illinois Procurement Code without further source selection approval required from the chief procurement officers established under the Illinois Procurement Code. Makes conforming changes.

2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | Section 5. The Department of State Police Law of the
Civil | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
5 | Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding Section | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
6 | 2605-440 as follows:

7 | (20 ILCS 2605/2605-440 new) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
8 | Sec. 2605-440. Assessments; online payment. The Department | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
9 | shall establish an electronic system to accept online payments | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
10 | for assessments for certain minor traffic violations issued | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
11 | under the Criminal and Traffic Assessment Act. The Department | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
12 | shall determine which violations are subject to the system and | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
13 | shall provide notice to a person who is eligible for its use. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
14 | The Department shall charge a nominal fee of $2.50 for each | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
15 | transaction to maintain the system. The Department may adopt | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
16 | rules to implement this Section.
