1.
Section
10A.402,
subsection
1,
Code
2019,
is

amended
to
read
as
follows:

Investigations
relative
to
the
practice
of
regulated

professions
and
occupations
,
except
those
within
the

jurisdiction
of
the
board
of
medicine,
the
board
of
pharmacy,

the
dental
board,
and
the
board
of
nursing
.

Sec.
2.
Section
135.11A,
subsection
1,
Code
2019,
is
amended

to
read
as
follows:

There
shall
be
a
professional
licensure
division
within

the
department
of
public
health.
Each
board
under
chapter
147

or
under
the
administrative
authority
of
the
department
,
except

the
board
of
nursing,
board
of
medicine,
dental
board,
and

board
of
pharmacy,
shall
receive
administrative
and
clerical
13
support
from
the
division
and
may
not
employ
its
own
support

staff
for
administrative
and
clerical
duties.

amended

striking
the
subsection.

This
bill
relates
to
the
operation
of
the
dental
board
and

the
board
of
medicine,
nursing,
and
dentistry.
Under
current

law,
the
boards
are
responsible
for
employing
support
staff
4
and
investigators.
The
bill
moves
staffing
responsibilities
5
to
the
department
of
public
health,
which
currently
provides
6
such
services
to
other
licensing
boards
under
the
authority
of
7
the
department.
