TWENTY-SIXTH LEGISLATURE, 2012
STATE OF HAWAII

A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

Relating to the arts.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 

     SECTION 1.  The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $500,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2012-2013 for the purpose of planning and designing a teacher resource art center to be located on property currently being used by the department of education at 1042 Young Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96814, near the Academy of Arts Linekona building and allocated as follows:

     Plans and designs for a teacher

     resource art center:

     Plans                        $150,000

     Design                        350,000

          Total funding                         $500,000

     The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of education for the purposes of this Act; provided that no funds shall be expended unless matched by $25,000 in private funds.

     SECTION 2.  The appropriation made for the capital improvement project authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2014, shall lapse as of that date.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2012.
