A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO FUNDS.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  This Act is recommended by the Governor for immediate passage in accordance with section 9 of article VII of the Constitution of the State of Hawaii.  In a Governor's Message dated March 18, 2010, the administration requested increases in the budget for the Office of Elections to support the 2010 special and regular elections.

     SECTION 2.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $250,000 to support the functions of the office of elections and the election commission in the 2010 regular elections.

     SECTION 3.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $140,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2009-2010 for the office of elections to reimburse the city and county of Honolulu for the 2010 special election.


 

     SECTION 4.  The sums appropriated shall be expended by the department of accounting and general services for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 5.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
