A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

Relating to Planned community associations.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 421J, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§421J-     Late fees.  A late fee charged to a member by an association for association dues shall not be in an amount that is more than ten per cent of the member's dues in arrears, if the member's arrearage is for thirty days or less."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
