A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE STATE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $2,965,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2021-2022 for the purpose of financing capital improvement projects as follows:
Construction and equipment for renovation and improvements to the roof of Iolani Palace.
Construction $1,000,000
Total funding $1,000,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of land and natural resources.
2. State archives, Oahu
Plans for the development of a state archives master plan to include the expansion and creation of new collections processing and storage, administrative, public research, exhibition, and community engagement spaces.

Total funding $1,000,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of accounting and general services.
3. Bishop Museum, Oahu
Plans, design, construction, and equipment for renovations and improvements to Bishop Museum facilities.

B. Nitrate Removal and Fire Safety Improvements in
Pauahi Building
Construction $100,000
C. Fire Rated Egress Improvements for Konia Building
Construction $375,000
D. Repair Water Infiltration in Hale Kini Building
Construction $250,000
Total funding $965,000
The sums appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of accounting and general services.
SECTION 2. The appropriation made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2024, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2065.
