RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Ms. Cynthia Jackson Jenkins; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Ms. Cynthia Jackson Jenkins has long been recognized by the citizens of this
state for the vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal
commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,
talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as
evidenced dramatically by her superlative service as director of the Southern
Regional Medical Center Foundation in Riverdale, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
Ms. Jenkins has over 20 years experience in the private and public sector
working in labor relations, human resources, social services, economic
development, and higher education; and
WHEREAS,
she has dedicated over seven years to the foundation, serving as director since
2005, and has brought fundraising and community awareness to new levels since
her involvement with the foundation; and
WHEREAS,
as director, Ms. Jenkins coordinates and executes large-scale fundraising
initiatives and oversees marketing, public relations recruiting, training, and
volunteer retention on behalf of the foundation; and
WHEREAS,
during her tenure as director, the foundation has surpassed its fundraising
goals for two consecutive years, increased funds from donors by 38 percent,
reduced operating expenses by 48 percent, and increased net profits from events
by 13 percent; and
WHEREAS,
Ms. Jenkins earned a bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University, and
a law degree from the University of Toledo;
and
WHEREAS, Ms. Jenkins's significant organizational and leadership talents, her remarkable patience and diplomacy, her keen sense of vision, and her sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state have earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and associates; and

WHEREAS,
a community leader, Ms. Jenkins is an advocate for breast cancer awareness,
participates in Relay for Life, and served as a volunteer for the Clayton County
Juvenile Court System; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the extraordinary accomplishments of
this distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Ms. Cynthia Jackson Jenkins for her efficient, effective,
unselfish, and dedicated service to the Southern Regional Medical Center
Foundation.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Ms. Cynthia
Jackson Jenkins.
