RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mr. Damian Obiglio; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Damian Obiglio is known for his expertise in the field of asset investment
and distribution and has earned a well-deserved reputation for providing
exemplary executive leadership; and
WHEREAS,
a certified public accountant, Mr. Obiglio earned a master's degree in
management from the Instituto Tecnologico de Beunos Aires in Argentina and is a
graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Obiglio has diligently and conscientiously devoted his time, talents, and
energy to the Jamaica Public Service Company, serving as president and chief
executive officer since 2006; and
WHEREAS,
prior to leading the Jamaica Public Service Company, Mr. Obiglio served as
president and chief executive officer of 4 Oeste Empreendimentos e Participacoes
S.A., a diversified private equity investment fund; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Obiglio served the AES Corporation, providing executive leadership for
various generation and distribution assets throughout Latin America including
serving as president and chief executive officer of AES Sul Distribuidora
Gaúcha de Energia S.A., Brazil, and president and chief executive officer
of Empresa Distribuidora de Energia Norte S.A., Argentina; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the extraordinary accomplishments of
this distinguished gentleman be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Mr. Damian Obiglio for his incredible career and the
outstanding leadership he has provided to numerous organizations.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Damian
Obiglio.
