Summary

As introduced, this bill reduces barriers to obtaining occupational licenses for individuals with criminal histories. It limits a licensing board's consideration of an individual's pending criminal accusation or prior conviction to those directly related to the occupation for which the license is sought. It also gives the individual an opportunity to provide mitigating evidence. Each board regulating a non-health related occupation must submit an annual report to the Mayor and the Council of its activities during the preceding fiscal year.
