AN ACT CONCERNING THE APPROPRIATE USE OF RESTRAINT AND SECLUSION ON STUDENTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 10-236b of the general statutes be amended to clarify the use of restraint and seclusion on students by articulating the distinction between a therapeutic time-out and seclusion and prohibiting planned seclusions from being included in a student's individualized education program.
Statement of Purpose:
To protect children from the inappropriate use of restraint and seclusion in school.
