AN ACT CONCERNING EXPENDITURES OF THE JUDICIAL DEPARTMENT, THE DIVISION OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE AND THE PUBLIC DEFENDER SERVICES COMMISSION.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2014) The Chief Court Administrator shall review the functions and activities of the Judicial Department in order to assign priority for the continued funding of such functions and activities and shall submit, in accordance with section 11-4a of the general statutes, findings, including any recommendation for legislation to modify such functions and activities, to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to appropriations and the budgets of state agencies not later than January 1, 2015.

Sec. 2. (Effective July 1, 2014) The Chief State's Attorney shall review the functions and activities of the Division of Criminal Justice in order to assign priority for the continued funding of such functions and activities and shall submit, in accordance with section 11-4a of the general statutes, findings, including any recommendation for legislation to modify such functions and activities, to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to appropriations and the budgets of state agencies not later than January 1, 2015.

Sec. 3. (Effective July 1, 2014) The Chief Public Defender shall review the functions and activities of the Public Defender Services Commission in order to assign priority for the continued funding of such functions and activities and shall submit, in accordance with section 11-4a of the general statutes, findings, including any recommendation for legislation to modify such functions and activities, to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to appropriations and the budgets of state agencies not later than January 1, 2015.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
