AN ACT CONCERNING THE IDENTIFICATION OF CONNECTICUT'S CHILD PLACEMENT NEEDS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective from passage) Not later than January 15, 2017, and annually thereafter, the Department of Children and Families shall submit a report, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to children on all children residing or placed in out-of-state facilities. Such report shall include, but need not be limited to (1) demographic information on each such child, (2) clinical presentations of each such child, (3) needs assessments for each such child, (4) the placement location for each such child, and (5) the reasons for the out-of-state placement including any treatment, educational or other needs for each such child that cannot be met in the state.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: | ||

To help identify the services and programs needed in Connecticut in order to meet the treatment needs of Connecticut's children and avoid out-of-state placements.
