AN ACT REQUIRING A STUDY OF WHETHER A STATE-WIDE MILL RATE FOR PROPERTY OWNED BY PUBLIC SERVICE COMPANIES MAY HELP REDUCE CUSTOMER RATES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the chairperson of the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority be required to study whether imposing a state-wide mill rate for property taxes on public service company property would result in reduced rates for consumers.
Statement of Purpose:
To study whether a state-wide mill rate for the property taxes paid by public service companies would result in reduced rates for consumers.
