AN ACT CONCERNING THE PROTECTION OF PATIENTS RECEIVING TELEHEALTH CARE OR SERVICES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 19a-906 of the general statutes be amended to allow a telehealth provider to provide telehealth care or services to a patient only if (1) the patient has had a physical examination by a health care provider to address the health-related concerns for which the patient is seeking telehealth care or services, and (2) the telehealth provider has provided the patient with all pertinent information regarding himself or herself and his or her credentials, including his or her name, his or her business or employer's name and address, state that issued his or her license to practice medicine and medical license number.

Statement of Purpose:

To protect patients seeking telehealth care services.
