AN ACT CONCERNING THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH'S RECOMMENDATIONS REGARDING PUBLIC SWIMMING POOL DESIGN GUIDELINES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. Section 19a-89b of the general statutes is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 1, 2015):

(a) Notwithstanding the provisions of sections 4-166 and 4-168, the Commissioner of Public Health may establish public swimming pool design guidelines without adopting such guidelines as regulations for purposes of establishing minimum standards for the proper construction and maintenance of public swimming pools.

[(a)] (b) The Department of Public Health shall charge a fee of fifteen dollars for a copy of its public swimming pool design guidelines.

[(b)] (c) The department shall charge a fee of fifteen dollars for a copy of its food compliance guide.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

To ensure standardized design and construction requirements for public pools in order to protect the health and safety of people using a public pool.
