AN ACT INCREASING THE MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE SECURITY DEPOSIT AMOUNT.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 47a-21 of the general statutes be amended to increase the maximum amount a landlord may charge a tenant under sixty-two years of age for a security deposit from two months' periodic rent to three month's periodic rent.

Statement of Purpose:

To increase the maximum amount a landlord may charge a tenant under sixty-two years of age for a security deposit.
