AN ACT CONCERNING PROBATE COURT OPERATIONS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That: (1) Subsection (b) of section 45a-8a of the general statutes be amended to reflect that the former Woodbridge Probate Court has merged into the Derby Probate District, and the former Hamden Probate Court has merged into the Bethany Probate District, for the purposes of establishing membership in the New Haven Regional Children's Probate Court; (2) section 31-375 of the general statutes be amended to provide workers' compensation coverage for probate judges; (3) section 45a-695 of the general statutes be amended to eliminate the panel for interdisciplinary teams in proceedings to determine an individual's ability to give informed consent to a sterilization procedure and allow professionals who have a personal working relationship with the respondent to appear on the interdisciplinary team; and (4) subsection (g) of section 1-212 of the general statutes be amended to permit a probate court to charge a fee of twenty dollars per day when an individual copies probate court records with a hand-held scanner.
Statement of Purpose:
To enact the recommendations of the Probate Court Administrator.
