AN ACT ESTABLISHING A BILL OF RIGHTS FOR RESIDENTS OF CONTINUING-CARE RETIREMENT COMMUNITIES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to establish a bill of rights for residents of continuing-care retirement communities that includes, but is not limited to, provisions requiring (1) additional financial disclosures by owners of such communities, (2) greater input from residents in the decision-making process, and (3) additional state oversight.

Statement of Purpose:

To provide greater protections for residents of continuing-care retirement communities.
