AN ACT CONCERNING ELECTRONIC SHELF LABELING.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective from passage) Not later than October 1, 2016, the Commissioner of Consumer Protection shall submit amendments to the regulations of Connecticut state agencies adopted pursuant to section 21a-75 of the general statutes to specify that: (1) Electronic shelf labeling devices utilize blue coloring for retail prices and orange coloring for unit prices; (2) such unit prices appear as a heading, with the unit price above, or to the left of the current selling price; and (3) an electronic shelf labeling system, that uses electronic devices to display only unit price information may be utilized, subject to the written permission of the commissioner.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

To require the Commissioner of Consumer Protection to amend existing regulations concerning electronic shelf labeling.
