AN ACT CONCERNING EXCLUSIONS FROM THE CALCULATION OF STATE EMPLOYEE RETIREMENT INCOME.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 66 of the general statutes be amended to exclude the following from the calculations of base salary and final average earnings for purposes of determining state employees' retirement income: (1) Payments for overtime, bonuses or accrued vacation time made at any time during an employee's state service, and (2) wage increases during the last four years of an employee's state service.

Statement of Purpose:

To prevent state pensions from being artificially inflated.
