   An act to amend Section 69504 of the Education Code, relating to
student financial aid.


	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   SB 1293, as introduced, Knight. Student financial aid.
   Existing law establishes various student financial aid programs
that are funded by the state or a public postsecondary educational
institution. Existing law provides that certain provisions applicable
to state-funded, need-based student grants do not regulate the
awarding of scholarships that are privately funded.
   This bill would make a nonsubstantive change to these provisions.

   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  Section 69504 of the Education Code is amended to read:

   69504.  The provisions of this article apply to all need-based
student grants that are funded by the state or a public postsecondary
