BILL NUMBER: AB 2095 INTRODUCED BILL TEXT INTRODUCED BY Assembly Member Travis Allen FEBRUARY 17, 2016 An act relating to economic development. LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST AB 2095, as introduced, Travis Allen. Economic development. Existing law creates various state agencies and authorizes certain of those agencies to regulate the operations of businesses. Existing law, until January 1, 2018, authorizes cities and counties to establish capital investment incentive programs to attract large manufacturing facilities to invest in their communities and to encourage industries, such as high technology, aerospace, automotive, biotechnology, software, and environmental sources and others, to locate and invest in those facilities in California. This bill would express the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation that would enhance and advance opportunities for California's biotechnology industry. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. It is the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation that would enhance and expand opportunities for California's biotechnology industry.
