An act to amend Section 2260 of the Vehicle Code, relating to the Department of the California Highway Patrol.


LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


AB 1435, as introduced, Lackey. Department of the California Highway Patrol.
Existing law authorizes the Commissioner of the California Highway Patrol to either advance the cost of or furnish one uniform, including equipment, to a new member of the department. Existing law requires the cost to the commissioner to be deducted from the salary of the new member, as specified.
This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to these provisions.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 Section 2260 of the Vehicle Code is amended to read:

2260.
 The commissioner may advance the cost of, or obtain and furnish, one complete uniform, including such the items of clothing and equipment as may be required by the commissioner, to each new member of the California Highway Patrol hereafter employed. employed by the Department of the California Highway Patrol. The cost to the commissioner shall be deducted from the salary of such the member in installments within the first year after he the member has completed the training school.
