AN ACT
appropriating monies to the secretary of state.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Appropriation; secretary of state; census complete count committees; exemption; definition
A. The sum of $500,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2019-2020 to the secretary of state to distribute to census complete count committees in this state. The secretary of state may distribute a maximum of $10,000 to a census complete count committee.
B. The appropriation made in subsection A of this section is exempt from the provisions of section 35-190, Arizona Revised Statutes, relating to lapsing of appropriations.
C. For the purposes of this section, "census complete count committee" means a volunteer committee established with the United States Census Bureau by this state or a tribe, county, city, town or community organization in this state to develop and implement a 2020 United States decennial census outreach, promotion, recruiting and enumeration assistance plan of action designed to target and address the needs of the entity.
