AN ACT

 

amending title 12, chapter 17, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 12‑2606; relating to health care providers.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 12, chapter 17, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 12-2606, to read:

START_STATUTE12-2606.  Evidence of payor standards; actions against licensed health care providers

In any civil action that is brought against a licensed health care provider as defined in section 12‑561 or in any arbitration proceeding that relates to the civil action, development, recognition or implementation of any guideline by any public or private payor or the establishment of any payment standard or reimbursement criteria under any federal law or regulation related to health care is inadmissible as evidence of negligence or the appropriate standard of practice or care.
