HOUSE BILL 2351

 

 

 

An Act

 

repealing section 41-3022.12, Arizona Revised Statutes; amending title 41, chapter 27, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 41-3025.07; relating to the Arizona board of regents.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Repeal

Section 41-3022.12, Arizona Revised Statutes, is repealed.

Sec. 2. Title 41, chapter 27, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 41-3025.07, to read:

START_STATUTE41-3025.07. Arizona board of regents; termination July 1, 2025

Subject to approval by the voters of a constitutional amendment repealing the authority for the board pursuant to article XI, section 5, Constitution of Arizona:

1. The Arizona board of regents terminates on July 1, 2025.

2. Title 15, chapter 13, article 2 and this section are repealed on January 1, 2026. END_STATUTE

Sec. 3. Purpose

Pursuant to section 41–2955, subsection B, Arizona Revised Statutes, the legislature continues the Arizona board of regents to adopt, prescribe and regulate administrative and financial policies applicable to universities in this state, to adopt regulations, rules and measures for the universities of this state and to supervise the operation of universities in this state.

Sec. 4. Retroactivity

Sections 1 and 2 of this act are effective retroactively to July 1, 2022.
