A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §17E-1-14b, relating to prohibiting a commercial driver who has used a commercial motor vehicle in a commission of a felony involving “severe forms of trafficking in persons” from holding a commercial driver’s license for life.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
ARTICLE 1. COMMERCIAL DRIVER'S LICENSE.
§17E-1-14b. Lifetime ban for commercial drivers involved in human trafficking.
A commercial driver using a commercial motor vehicle in a commission of a felony involving an act or practice of “severe forms of trafficking in persons” as that term is defined and described in 22 U.S.C. §7102(11) is disqualified for life of holding a Commercial Driver’s License.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to prohibit a commercial driver who has used a commercial motor vehicle in a commission of a felony involving “severe forms of trafficking in persons” from holding a commercial driver’s license for life.
