Summary

The purpose of this bill is to amend various requirements for motor vehicle dealers. The bill expands the authority of the Dealer Recovery Fund Control Board to award claims; raises the minimum bond required of dealers during their first three years of operation from $10,000 to $25,000; establishes a minimum level of vehicle sales to remain a licensed dealer; adds required participation in electronic issuance of temporary license plates; and authorizes dealers in border states to issue registrations on vehicle sales and exempts persons employed by a dealer in the business of selling commercial motor vehicles from the requirements of obtaining a dealer salesperson license.
