SENATE BILL NO. 545 Offered January 8, 2014 A BILL to amend and reenact §10.1-1116 of the Code of Virginia, relating to the Reforestation Operations Fund. ---------- Patron-- Ruff ---------- Referred to Committee on Agriculture, Conservation and Natural Resources ----------

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That §10.1-1116 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:

§10.1-1116. Reforestation Operations Fund.

All money obtained from the state forests, except as provided in subsection E of §10.1-1107, shall be paid into a special nonreverting fund in the state treasury, to the credit of the Reforestation Operations Fund (the Fund). Interest earned on the moneys in the Fund shall remain in the Fund and be credited to it. Any moneys remaining in the Fund, including interest thereon, at the end of each fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund, but shall remain in the Fund. The moneys in such fund the Fund are to be utilized for state forest protection, management, replacement, and extension, under the direction of the State Forester.
