WHEREAS, Julius Norman, a member of the Youth Services Department at the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority, has worked tirelessly for several years to ensure brighter futures for Norfolk's youth; and
WHEREAS, as a member of the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority (NRHA), Julius Norman draws from his first-hand experience of living in NRHA public housing to mentor young people and help them on their paths to success; and
WHEREAS, alongside Jackie Baker and various other NRHA staff members, Julius Norman has endeavored to provide thousands of young people with college and career opportunities that will inspire them to achieve greatness in their lives; and
WHEREAS, through Julius Norman's compassionate leadership, countless young people have been connected with community resources, including college scholarships and internships, that have been instrumental to the development and fulfillment of their personal goals and aspirations; and
WHEREAS, Julius Norman has played a key role in NRHA's "College Here We Come" program, personally coordinating college tours that have inspired and guided thousands of NRHA youth who have graduated from college and become productive members of society in recent years; and
WHEREAS, as an educator, mentor, advisor, and counselor, Julius Norman offers wisdom and support to the many young people he serves, helping to make Norfolk a better place to live, work, and raise a family; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Julius Norman hereby be commended for his many years of service on behalf of the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority and the youth of Norfolk; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Julius Norman as an expression of the House of Delegates' high esteem for his admirable contributions to Norfolk and the Commonwealth.
