HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 335
Celebrating the life of Corporal Harvey Snook III, ACPD.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 26, 2016
Agreed to by the Senate, March 3, 2016

WHEREAS, Corporal Harvey Snook III of Arlington, a respected law-enforcement officer who was one of the first responders to the scene of the attack on the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, died on January 14, 2016; and

WHEREAS, a native of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Corporal Snook graduated from Elmer L. Meyers High School and King's College, and he honorably served his country as a member of the United States Army; and

WHEREAS, in 1989, Corporal Snook joined the Arlington County Police Department, where he worked to serve and protect the community as a patrolman and a member of the K9 unit; and

WHEREAS, Corporal Snook received several awards and accolades during his career, including the Arlington County Meritorious Action Award, the Police Service Award, and the Sons of the American Revolution Law Enforcement Commendation Medal; and

WHEREAS, Corporal Snook was admired for his kindness and compassion toward everyone he met, and he cared deeply for his K9 partner, Russ, and his companion dog, Jager; and

WHEREAS, Corporal Snook will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his mother, Sandra, and numerous other family members, friends, and fellow law-enforcement officers and veterans; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Corporal Harvey Snook III, a distinguished law-enforcement officer in Arlington County; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Corporal Harvey Snook III as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for his memory.
