Commending Superheroes Ice Cream.

WHEREAS, Superheroes Ice Cream, a unique, family-owned ice cream parlor, opened in Virginia Beach in January 2024; and

WHEREAS, Superheroes Ice Cream was established by Coleman and Amberly Ferguson, two experienced entrepreneurs who also own and operate The Gala 417, a wedding and event venue that opened in 2019; and

WHEREAS, after their son, Brantley, took an interest in YouTube reviews, the Fergusons began reviewing local ice cream parlors for fun in 2022; and

WHEREAS, when Brantley suggested they begin making their own ice cream, the Fergusons were inspired to create Superheroes Ice Cream as their next business venture; and

WHEREAS, the Fergusons chose a superhero theme to make the shop more appealing for kids and worked with a local artist, Bob Langston, to design a cast of comic book superhero characters based on themselves to adorn the walls; and

WHEREAS, the Fergusons took several classes on making ice cream and developed creative flavors like a blend of Tootsie Roll and cotton candy, Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal Milk, and a mint chocolate flavor called Hulk's Underwear; and

WHEREAS, located inside Lynnhaven Mall, Superheroes Ice Cream is a convenient stop for visitors, and the shop offers monthly memberships for regular customers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Superheroes Ice Cream on the occasion of its grand opening in 2024; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Ferguson family, owners of Superheroes Ice Cream, as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the shop's contributions to the vibrant local economy in Virginia Beach.
